Our reconstruction of the hour from two recaps that agree on every vote.

Who was evicted on Big Brother Thursday night?

Two people: Barrett first, Yash second. Both walk into the jury house, and the season now has a final five of Dee Valladares, Rick Devens, Drew Campbell, Melody Morris and Taylor Brown.

Both head to the jury house. Yash going out a half hour after Barrett is the brutal part: he started the night holding the Head of Household key, having won that comp on Sunday and nominated Barrett, Drew and Melody two nights earlier.

How did Barrett end up on the block?

The veto was an endurance comp that came down to Yash and Drew, and Drew won it after the two of them struck a deal. Drew pulled himself down, Yash put Taylor up in his place, and the nominees going into the vote were Barrett, Melody and Taylor.

Then came the Block Buster, the last one of the season. Melody beat Barrett and Taylor, which left the two of them on the block for the live vote. Dee, Devens and Drew all wrote Barrett's name down.

That vote reads as a straight continuation of the alliance math we laid out after last week's eviction: the three Icons plus Drew have controlled the numbers since Angela left.

What happened in the live double eviction round?

Melody went from saving herself to running the house. She won the second HOH of the night and put up Devens and Dee, the two Icons who had been untouchable for weeks because of the BB Bribe deal.

Devens won the veto and used it on himself, so Melody needed a replacement. She chose Yash. Devens and Drew voted him out 2–1, with Taylor sticking by her closest ally and voting to evict Dee instead.

So the person who held power at 8 p.m. was gone by 9. That is what a double eviction does to anyone who is out of the loop for 30 minutes.

Who is in the Big Brother 28 final five?

HouseguestWhere they stand
Melody MorrisOutgoing HOH after winning both the Block Buster and the second HOH
Rick DevensWon the round-two veto; survived his first trip to the block this season
Drew CampbellWon the round-one veto and voted with the majority both times
Dee ValladaresSat on the block in round two and drew one vote
Taylor BrownWas a replacement nominee in round one and voted alone twice

👉 Taylor is now the only player who has voted against the house on back-to-back evictions, which is a hard thing to hide from four people.
