Who won MasterChef 2026?
Jake Kelley. Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Tiffany Derry handed him the season 16 title on Wednesday night after the second half of the two-part finale.
He started the season on Team Americas in April and cooked Mexican dishes almost the whole way. Asked afterwards what swung it, he pointed at preparation rather than flash: how thought through every dish was, he told TV Insider.
What did he cook in the finale menu?
Three courses, all of them Mexican-leaning. The appetizer was the taco that had already put him in front at the end of Finale Part 1 last Wednesday.
The entrée was a mole plate he called "Holy Mole," built in under an hour, with Derry raising the only real objection of his night — the rice.
Dessert is where it closed out. His Sweet Corn Profiterole drew the line of the night from Ramsay, who called it the best profiterole I have tasted in this competition

How did Heidi Muston and Peter Egede finish?
Both as runners-up, and both out of Team Africa — the only region to put two cooks in the last three.
Heidi Muston, at 51 the oldest of the finalists, came in needing her entrée and dessert to answer a mixed response to her appetizer. Peter Egede had stayed level with Jake through the first half.
👉 Twenty home cooks started in April. Three plated on Sept. 16, and the gap at the top was one dessert wide.
What was the Global Gauntlet format?
Season 16 split the auditions by region — Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Americas, one night each across April — then merged the survivors into challenges that kept pushing them back toward their own food.
That is why the finale read the way it did: a Michigan pharmacy tech cooking mole, and a Florida broker cooking South African. The season ran 18 episodes from the April 15 premiere.
