Big Brother 28 Results, Sept. 9, 2026: Yash Won the Veto and Left All Three Icons on the Block

Barrett Pfeiffer put all three Icons on the block on Sunday, and Wednesday's 90-minute episode answered the only question that mattered: whether the veto would rescue one of them. Yash Patel won the Power of Veto and chose not to use it, so Angela Murray, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens all face Thursday's vote.
Where Week 9 stands after Wednesday
| Houseguest | Status going into Thursday |
|---|---|
| Barrett Pfeiffer | Head of Household — votes only to break a tie |
| Yash Patel | Veto holder — did not use it |
| Angela Murray | Nominated |
| Dee Valladares | Nominated |
| Rick Devens | Nominated |
| Drew Campbell | Voting |
| Melody Morris | Voting |
| Taylor Brown | Voting |
Three nominees, three voters, one tiebreaker. That is a thin margin, and it is why Thursday's competition matters as much as the vote does.
Who won the Power of Veto?
Yash Patel, in BB Comics — the comic-book comp the show brings back most summers. Feed recaps count it as his third veto of the season, which is the part the house keeps circling back to.
He beat Barrett, Taylor and the three nominees. Nobody in that group needed it more than the people on the block, and none of them got it.
Why didn't Yash use it?
Because saving one Icon would have handed the other two a reason to campaign, and Barrett's plan only works if the three of them stay together on the block. The Icons argued anyway.
Their pitch leaned on the BB Bribe deal that has been the season's sorest subject — the one Devens spent last week telling the house was wider than Yash admitted. Yash listened, then left the nominations alone at the ceremony.
👈 The bribe fight started before Sunday's nominations. We laid out how it got here in the Sept. 6 results post.

Who goes home Thursday?
Not settled, and not only because of the votes. The BB Block Buster is back this season, and the three nominees play it for safety before the eviction.
Win it and you come off the block. The two who don't are left to Drew, Melody and Taylor, with Barrett holding the tiebreaker.
Thursday's episode runs an hour, starting at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. Our Wednesday preview has the fuller picture of what the 90 minutes were built to set up.
How many houseguests are left?
Eight of the 17 who started. Nine have gone, one of them through a competition rather than a vote.
| Day | Out |
|---|---|
| Day 10 | Ashley Trail |
| Day 17 | Rome Seymour |
| Day 24 | Jason De Puy |
| Day 31 | Lyric Medeiros |
| Day 38 | Chuk Anyanwu |
| Day 45 | Kamuela "Kamu" Kirk |
| Day 52 | Mallory Aurichio |
| Day 53 | Haley Thogmartin (competition) |
| Day 59 | La Trice Verrett |
La Trice's exit is the one that reshaped the vote math; we covered it in the Sept. 3 live eviction post.
When is the next episode?
| Date (ET) | What airs | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Thu, Sept. 10, 8 p.m. | BB Block Buster and live eviction | 60 min |
| Sun, Sept. 13, 8:30 p.m. | Next HOH and nominations | 60 min |
| Wed, Sept. 16, 8 p.m. | Veto night, listed at two hours | 120 min |
Sunday starts half an hour late because of football, and the two-hour Sept. 16 listing is the sort of thing that usually means a double eviction. Every remaining start time sits in our schedule through the finale, and the rest of the week is in this week's reality lineup. FOX had MasterChef's finale, part one in the same hour Wednesday.
FAQ
Was the veto used on Big Brother Wednesday night? No. Yash won it and left Barrett's three nominations exactly as they were.
Can Barrett vote on Thursday? Only to break a tie. Three houseguests cast votes, so a tie is live if the Block Buster leaves two nominees.
Where can you stream it? Paramount+ posts the episodes once they finish; the Premium tier carries the feeds between them. Our Unlocked rundown explains the difference, and the Big Brother section page collects the rest.
